To tell you the truth, i didn't wanna write about this issue. But drug problem has been following this band and it might be so in the future, i don't know.

Needless to say, they lost their irreplaceable person for them such as Hillel, River. Anthony talked about the situation that Hillel died by heroin as "It's no wonder if I was dead," and i heard when John left the band in the middle of the tour of Japan, he was under a effection of narcotic heavily. He confessed he released his second solo album("Smile From The Streets You Hold") just to earn money for drugs.

As Anthony explains in the video "Funky Monks," the single "Under The Bridge" of "BSSM" sings about his drug experiences. "I don't ever want to feel like I did that day. Take me to the place I love. Take me all the way." Here "the place I love" means the life of Anthony at the time he talkes in the video which has no relationship with drugs.

When i saw this video i personally dreamed of the story which was "all members break narcotic behavior off and restart their carrior with BSSM," but at last John devoted himself to drugs and ended up with his left from the band. i often imagined how difficult to break one's behavior of drugs off was, alone in my room.

i also mentioned in 'Funk, Freak' of 'Keywords', the lyric of 'Sir Psyco Sexy'...'I pray the Funk will make me freak'. If it's the reveal of their feeling which is 'i wanna conquer the weakness of myself', i perhaps understand their sentiment which go down into narcotic behavior. Not only them, but all human being are not so strong, i think.
